Investigators Determine Alhambra Golden Garden Fire Arson
ATF offering $10,000 reward for information in Alhambra Golden Garden arson
ALHAMBRA, Calif., Nov. 24 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Special Agent in Charge John A. Torres of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and Fire Chief Bruce Stedman of theAlhambra Fire Department today announced that the on-scene origin and cause investigation into the Nov. 18 Alhambra Golden Garden condominium construction project fire is complete, and determined the fire was incendiary or arson.
Investigators from ATF's National Response Team (NRT) and theAlhambra Fire Department finished combing through the debris today, but will continue to follow up on leads and analyze evidence recovered at the scene.
The fire destroyed the three story complex under construction and damaged several nearby structures. Damages are estimated at $4.5 million.
"ATF is dedicated to safeguarding the American public by enforcing federal laws related to arson," Torres said. "We are asking for the public's help in our effort to apprehend and convict those responsible for this heinous crime."
ATF is offering a $10,000 reward to any person that provides information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for this arson. Anyone with information on the fire should contact ATF at (888) ATF-FIRE or (888) 283-3473, or theAlhambra Fire Department at (626) 570-5190.
