BridgePoint Systems, San Leandro, CA Provides Contact, Contactless and Dual Interface TrustPoint(TM) Reader Solutions to Address the Full Range of Requirements for HSPD-12 and SP 800-116; Readers Work With All Common Access Cards (CACs), TWIC and FIPS 201 Compliant, Interoperable and Compatible Credentials

BridgePoint Systems, the market leader in high assurance physical access control solutions, has announced that four (4) of its physical access control TrustPoint reader products have received approval from the General Services Administration for inclusion on the Federal Information Processing Standard 201 (FIPS 201) Approved Products List. This wide range of reader solutions along with the BridgePoint Physical Access Control System (PACS) with "Trust at the Threshold PKI (TM)" continues to expand the industry's only available PACS solution to meet the full requirements of the National Institute of Standards and Technology's SP 800-116.

The readers provide a range of capabilities across card types. The readers include contact, contactless and dual interface readers in a variety of mounting styles. The readers are compatible with a wide range of industry leading physical access control systems as well as with the BridgePoint's Trust at the Threshold PKI PACS.

The BridgePoint TrustPoint readers have already been deployed in numerous locations in support of PACS that want to make use of the Common Access Card and other FIPS 201 credentials. Ideally suited to meet the needs of military bases that have a range of card types, the TrustPoint readers work with legacy CAC, Next Generation CAC and End Point CAC credentials.

"BridgePoint is committed to solutions that support legacy and the end state and multiple assurance profiles for all government PKI credentials," said Tom Corder, CEO of BridgePoint Systems. "The future of convergence and physical access control lies in the ability to use the same method of authentication as a common basis of identity across applications. BridgePoint and our industry partners stand ready to enable legacy PACS controllers and systems to meet, today, the requirements of HSPD-12, FIPS-201 and SP 800-116. BridgePoint customers across the country using multiple PACS vendors are taking advantage of this capability."

Federal agencies, state and local first responders, ports, airports and other critical infrastructure sectors need a way of achieving interoperability with the growing population of FIPS 201 compliant, interoperable and compatible credentials. The TrustPoint readers allow any PACS to make use of these credentials today. In addition to the TrustPoint readers, BridgePoint has developed a full range of PACS solutions that meet the needs of credential enrollment, full path validation and synchronization with PKI and identity management systems ranging from single door solutions to enterprise capabilities.
