PHOTOS: Longknife Soldiers assume responsibility of Ghazaliya

BAGHDAD - The crest of the 4th Cavalry Regiment hangs from the side of a building on Joint Security Station Ghazaliya I. The 5th Squadron, 4th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Heavy Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Division - Baghdad, assumed control of the area following a transfer of authority ceremony at Joint Security Station Ghazaliya I.


BAGHDAD - Lt. Col. John Richardson IV, commander, 5th Squadron, 4th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Heavy Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Multi-National Division - Baghdad, along with Command Sgt. Maj. Robert Tompkins, the squadron's senior enlisted leader, unfurl the squadron's colors during a transfer of Authority ceremony at Joint Security Station Ghazaliya I.



BAGHDAD - The command teams of the 5th Squadron, 4th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Heavy Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Division - Baghdad, and the 1st Squadron, 75th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), give one final salute Nov. 15 during a transfer of Authority Ceremony at Joint Security Station Ghazaliya I. The 5th Sqdn., 4th Cav. Regt. assumed responsibility of the Ghazaliya area of northwest Baghdad following the ceremony and is scheduled to be deployed for one year.
