Capitol Insurance Companies Announces Board Appointments and Promotions

Kathleen A. McCarney joined Capitol Insurance Companies in 2003 as P&C Operations Manager, and was responsible for monitoring and ensuring our service standards and quality control including all aspects of policy and endorsement issuance and quote activity. Kathy was then promoted to Director P&C Operations in 2005.

Kathy has continued to take on more responsibility through the years. She manages the P&C underwriting technicians, training staff, loss control support staff, and billing collections staff. Until recently, she also managed the claims support staff. Within P&C, she is responsible for CAP OnLine training, audits and collections, quality assurance and service standards. For both P&C and F&S, she is responsible for Accounts Receivable, and ImageRight implementation.

Kathy has a B.A. in Behavioral Science & Law from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and completed post-graduate studies in law and industrial relations.

Carmen J. Raha joined Capitol in September 2002. Since joining the company Carmen has been responsible for managing the financial processes of Capitol, including statutory and financial reporting, reinsurance accounting, disbursements, investments and cash management. During her time at Capitol, Carmen has made significant improvements by implementing operational and financial controls and building efficiencies in the reporting processes. Capitol's financial control process is now considered one of the strongest in the Alleghany family of companies.

Carmen has a B.S. in Accounting and Management from Upper Iowa University, and an Associate Degree in Accounting from the Western Wisconsin Technical College inLa Crosse.

Kevin A. Klestinski joined Capitol in 2006 as Director of Marketing Operations. In this position, he has been providing leadership to the Marketing staff to include the planning, organizing and directing of the day-to-day operations. Kevin has also worked closely with Underwriting to set the strategic marketing direction for the company.

Kevin has a B.A. in Business Administration from St. Norbert College. In addition, he has earned designations as a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), an Associate in Underwriting (AU), and a Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC).
