FASTSIGNS(R) News: Greet the Holidays With Signs and Graphics

It's the time of year when our noses are filled with the smell of pumpkin spice, our ears are greeted with the sound of jingle bells, and our eyes take in the flurry of activity and burst of color that tells us the holidays are here. Despite the weakened economy, throughout stores, businesses, schools and churches, signs and graphics are everywhere, generating excitement for the holiday season.

"Signs and graphics help bring the holidays to life," said Drue Townsend, senior VP of marketing for FASTSIGNS International, Inc. "They serve as a trigger to begin the season, encourage purchases, promote events, and draw attention to charities and their causes. Signs and creative displays have become an integral part of the entire holiday experience."

In celebration of a more festive time of year, Townsend suggests thinking creatively when it comes to holiday signs and graphics. It may not be a white Christmas for many places, but retailers can help window shoppers feel like they are walking in a winter wonderland by applying window graphics in the shape of falling snowflakes.

Retailers can also be proactive in helping shoppers check off items on their list and pick up extras they might not have thought about with well-placed point-of-purchase signage. For example, placing floor graphics in the toy-aisle reminds shoppers to pick up extra batteries to go along with their electronic toy purchases.

With the holidays come many social gatherings and events. Signs serve as a vital point of communication in promoting these events. The neighborhood church looking to encourage attendance at an upcoming winter festival could display a vivid, building-size banner featuring fun images from past festivals to entice a greater turnout and give a glimpse of what attendees can expect.

This is also the time of year when charitable organizations rely heavily on the generosity of others. Signs and graphics are a simple and cost-effective way for these organizations and their partners to get their message across. A business that is helping a local toy drive for children in need by serving as a drop site can easily have their toy receiving boxes wrapped with colorful vinyl graphics to draw the attention of passers-by and encourage participation.

Just like the holidays, seasonal signs and graphics will go as quickly as they came. Make sure you're getting the most out of the signs you use to spread holiday messages and cheer by working with a knowledgeable sign and graphics company.

FASTSIGNS® sign and graphics centers use innovation and technology to make the sign buying process fast and simple by offering for a full range of custom sign and graphic products. For more information, visit www.fastsigns.com.
