Philadelphia International Airport Concessions Program Receives Industry Accolades
The Philadelphia Marketplace Food & Shops
in the B/C Connector at Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) was
recognized by Airports Council International-North America (ACI-NA) as
"Best Food and Beverage Program" among large airports in North America.
Additionally, the airport's specialty retail program in the B/C Connector
placed third in the large airports category.
Philadelphia International Airport boasts more than 160 stores, restaurants
and services throughout its seven terminals, including everything from an
upscale wine bar to a full-service spa and fine jewelry stores. The
Philadelphia Marketplace Food & Shops offers passengers choices at national
chains such as Brooks Brothers as well as local favorites like Chickie's
and Pete's for a unique Philadelphia experience.
The ACI-NA Excellence in Airport Concessions Contest is held annually to
recognize innovative and outstanding airport concessions throughout the
United States and Canada. These awards demonstrate the growing importance
of concessions to the total airport experience. The winners were announced
during the 2008 ACI-NA Airport Concessions Conference in Toronto on
November 12, which was attended by more than 300 representatives of the
North American airport concessions industry.
This year's contest received more than 120 entries from large, medium and
small airports throughout North America.
"We're thrilled to receive these prestigious awards from ACI-NA," said
Clarence LeJeune, President of MarketPlace Philadelphia Management. "Our
merchants are the key to our success; we couldn't have done this without
their continued hard work and dedication to exceed the expectations of PHL
passengers."
"Philadelphia International Airport is proud to offer passengers
award-winning food, beverage and retail options. These ACI-NA awards
demonstrate our commitment to customer satisfaction," said Director of
Aviation Charles Isdell.
