New York-based My Own Worst Enemy was launched by Gordon together with a New York investment group seven years ago and most recently has put together a slate of twelve films. Gordon is a former composer turned producer who formed the co-venture which has subsequently acquired, financed and produced 14 movies with budgets of up to $6 million per picture.
Domestic distribution rights to many of the pics made under the venture will likely be handled by <http://www.variety.com/profiles/Company/main/2125274/Sony%20Pictures%20Animation.html?dataSet=1> Sony Pictures and International rights to be handled through Deboragh Gabler's international sales operation, Legacy Filmworks.
"Gordon and Odea should make an excellent pairing to ensure that this script becomes a successful film, especially with Gordon's industry relationships and production experience", Gabler said. Gordon's Americana Films, which was formed in 2002 has a slate that includes Paul Flaherty's "Heart Stopper", with offers going out to Winona Ryder and Sharon Stone. The project is currently in pre-production.
