Aurora Systems Announces the Introduction of a New LCOS Panel for Mobile Viewing Market
SAN JOSE, Calif., Nov. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Aurora Systems Incorporated
announced today the introduction of a new line of liquid crystal on silicon
panel designed for mobile projection applications.
The new ASI1300 series product is a single panel color field sequential
device, based on an 8.8 micron pixel in an array with a resolution of 864 x
600 pixels. This design will enable customers to use it in either an SVGA
mode, with a diagonal of 0.346" and a WVGA mode, with a diagonal of 0.339".
"The ASI1300 series panel has been designed to slot into the Aurora
product range between our existing 0.55" WXGA device and the 0.177" VGA
device. The new panel is large enough to couple well with LED light sources,
yet small enough to meet the demands of compact projection systems for mobile
applications," said Jeffrey Saake, CEO and President of Aurora Systems.
"Further, the relatively high resolution of this small device, combined with
continuing improvements in LED technology, opens up the opportunity for
customers to create low cost companion projectors with high optical output."
The ASI1300 series continues to build on Aurora's all-digital technology
and core competence in small pixel design. It shares the same architecture as
Aurora's existing 0.177" ASI1000 series product and so both panels share a
common driver chip for low power, compact projection applications.
