Lindsay Lohan Has Violent Fight With Girlfriend

If you or I have a public spat with our significant other it might be fodder for water cooler gossip for a couple of days. But problems in your love life won't affect Wall Street, and they won't cause the price of crude oil to spike.

But when a celebrity has a public emotional meltdown, it's a bonanza for the paparazzi and a boom for magazines and Web sites that traffic in celebritydom.

Lindsay Lohan, who keeps People Magazine and the rest of the celebrity-peddling rags in business, had yet another public tantrum. I must confess that Lindsay Lohan, Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, Miley Cyrus, Pamela Anderson, Kim Kardashian, and company have also provided this humble columnist with enough material for tons of Pulitzer-worthy essays.

"Lindsay Lohan and lover Samantha Ronson had a physical fight during a night out in London. DJ Samantha reportedly flew into a jealous rage when she spotted girlfriend Lindsay flirting and dancing erotically with her ex-boyfriend, British model Calum Best, at exclusive nightclub Boujis on Tuesday (18.11.08), and stormed over to confront the pair.

Although Lindsay and Samantha left Boujis together, Samantha was seen storming into the pair's Kensington hotel room, leaving Lindsay alone in their car for 10 minutes.

Lindsay eventually followed her lover inside, but emerged an hour later and collapsed on the street in floods of tears."

Lohan's public breakdown is eerily reminiscent of Britney Spears' public meltdown at the height of her insanity. It's well documented that Spears has mental issues; Lohan may also be mentally unstable and I hope she seeks the help of a psychiatrist.

Lohan's breakdown is a desperate cry from help. Lohan won't listen to cynical columnists who poke fun at her, but I hope that her loved ones will convince her to get some help.
