XL and Amdocs Complete Massive Subscriber Migration to New Amdocs Billing System in Just Eight Weeks
23 million subscribers migrated to Amdocs' system in time for peak holiday usage volume; new system to support future growth
JAKARTA, Indonesia andMACAU,China, Nov. 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- PT Excelcomindo Pratama Tbk.(XL), a leading provider of wireless, Internet and Internet Protocol (IP)-based voice services inIndonesia and part of Malaysia's TMI group, and Amdocs (NYSE: DOX), the leading provider of customer experience systems, today announced the migration of XL's nearly 23 million subscribers to its new Amdocs Billing software in eight weeks.
"The fact that Amdocs provides migration services in addition to its software ensured we were able to convert our entire customer base to the new Amdocs Billing system and meet the aggressive deadline leading up to our local holiday season. On-time delivery was critical," said Dian Siswarini, director of Network at XL. "The new system processed an enormous volume of holiday network traffic and its performance was flawless. The new system is also capable of accommodating our growth rate for years to come and ensuring that we can continue to bring new offerings to market in just days to best meet our customers' needs."
Amdocs' integrated billing, customer relationship management (CRM) and partner settlement products have supported XL's growth, from 1.5 million subscribers in 2003 to nearly 23 million today. XL recently upgraded its Amdocs Billing software to meet future business demand. With the upgraded software, XL can better serve its 22.4 million prepaid customers by processing millions of credit replenishment requests and thousands of price-plan changes a day, in real-time. Additionally, Amdocs Billing is preconfigured to support the immediate activation of XL's millions of off-the-shelf minute packages that can more than double its monthly traffic volume.
"In prepaid markets, the ability for customers to choose from a large variety of price plans and to immediately take advantage of a new pricing option or bundle is critical to customer loyalty," said Michael Couture, head of Global Marketing at Amdocs. "Amdocs Billing enables XL to launch hundreds of new price plans a year and activate new plans within moments of a customer's request."
