Bytemobile Appoints Telecom Industry Veteran Hugh Barton as Vice President and General Manager, North America
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Nov. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Bytemobile, Inc., the
global leader in mobile internet solutions for network operators, today
announced the appointment of Hugh Barton as vice president and general
manager,North America. Barton will be responsible for all of the company's
sales activities and customer relationships inthe United States andCanada.
According to Chetan Sharma Consulting, the U.S. wireless data market grew
37.5% year over year in the third quarter of 2008, reaching $8.8 billion in
total revenue. Bytemobile's current customers inNorth America include leading
network operators such as AT&T, Alltel and Sprint Nextel.

Hugh Barton has over 20 years of management experience in sales, business
development, marketing, strategic planning, and consulting. Before joining
Bytemobile, he was vice president of North America Sales, Global Commercial
Industries, at Unisys Corporation, where he was responsible for strategic
accounts such as AT&T, Sprint, Verizon, Cox, and Comcast. Previously, he held
several management positions at Hewlett-Packard Company, including managing
director, BT Alliance, responsible for HP's relationship with British Telecom.
Barton also served in the Information, Communications and Entertainment
Practice at KPMG Consulting and the Communications Industry Group at
Accenture. As a partner at Washington Equity Partners, he structured private
equity transactions for wireless telecommunications companies in emerging
markets. Barton holds a M.B.A. degree from the College of William & Mary and a
B.A. degree in History from the University of Virginia, and is certified as a
Chartered Director by the U.K. Institute of Directors.
