UGLY Hosts Open Casting Call to Find the New Faces of Ed Hardy!
Hopefuls to Flock to the Jack Gallery in the Historic Farmers Market, Los Angeles!

"Welcome to Hollywood! What's your dream?
Everybody comes here; this is Hollywood, land of dreams. Some dreams come
true, some don't; but keep on dreamin' -- this is Hollywood!" Some might
recall the classic quote from the film "Pretty Woman," and for most, it is
a statement that continues to fuel the career aspirations of many in Tinsel
Town. This is the land of opportunity and this coming Thursday, November
20, 2008, some individuals might just get their shot at stardom.
UGLYNY and UGLY London have come to Los Angeles to partner with the iconic
Street Chic Brand Ed Hardy to find the new faces of Ed Hardy through a
series of open casting calls throughout the greater metro L.A. area.
Ed Hardy is a lifestyle brand that represents Unity. As a brand that
originated in Los Angeles, the inspiration behind Ed Hardy clothing comes
from much of the "melting pot" of culture, art and fashion found in the
city -- "it is a line which embodies everyone," says fashion designer
Christian Audigier, the founder of Ed Hardy. "Working together, Ed Hardy
and UGLY are a perfect example of how brands can embrace the uniqueness of
their consumers by using the faces of 'real people.'"
UGLY was formed in London in 1969 by two forward-thinking photographers who
recognized the need in print advertising for models who were not
traditionally beautiful, and the UGLY idea was born. The agency quickly got
off to a great start -- providing talent representation for folks from all
walks of life -- and all beautiful in their own way. UGLY crossed the big
pond in 2007 and landed in New York City. UGLY is now preparing for the
next leap -- across the country coming to Los Angeles in 2009.
"Hosting open casting calls throughout LA is such an exciting opportunity
in itself," shares Simon Rogers about the unique campaign, "but when
partnered with such an iconic brand as Ed Hardy -- the energy and
enthusiasm is amazing! Christian is a genius. We love the idea of pushing
the boundaries of what is traditionally seen as beautiful and I'm sure
we're going to find a wealth of great talent on the west coast." Simon is
CEO of UGLYNY (www.uglyny.com), who, along with Marc French from UGLY in
London, runs the UGLY talent/modeling agencies.
The casting call will be held in the Jack Gallery, located in the Farmers
Market, 6333 West 3rd Street, Los Angeles, CA 90036 from 11 AM to 2 PM. A
Photographer will be on hand at the casting calls to take shots of
potential models and headshots will be accepted. Hair and Make Up are being
provided by Floyd's 99 Barbershop for Men and Women. Attendees may be
filmed for future TV broadcast.
Headshots maybe submitted online ahead of time by emailing pictures, bios
