Parvus Previews Rugged Dual-Core Vehicle Mission Processor Platform and Gigabit Ethernet Switch Subsystem at MILCOM
New Core 2 Duo-Based Mission Computer and 10-Port Gigabit Ethernet Switch Target Manned and Unmanned Military Applications

Parvus will be
previewing the new DuraCOR® 810-Duo mission computer and DuraNET® 1268
Gigabit Ethernet switch Nov. 17-19 at MILCOM 2008 in the San Diego
Convention Center Booth 1109. These new rugged subsystems target
Commercial-Off-the-Shelf (COTS) military and homeland defense applications
for enhancing situational awareness and onboard computing capabilities of
unmanned aircraft and tactical wheeled/tracked vehicles.
Designed for high reliability applications, both the DuraCOR 810-Duo and
DuraNET 1268 are designed to meet MIL-STD-810F, MIL-STD-461E, MIL-STD-704E,
and MIL-STD-1275D environmental conditions (extreme temperatures,
shock/vibration, and ingress), EMI/EMC conducted and radiated
emissions/susceptibility, as well as power supply voltage and
surge/transient requirements common to ground and airborne military
deployments.

DURACOR® 810-DUO
The DuraCOR 810-Duo is a rugged multi-core mission processor subsystem
based around a modular, open architecture design with Intel's Core2 Duo
CPU, a Flash solid state disk, MIL power supply and expandable rugged
chassis. The unit offers six expansion slots for PCI-104 or PC/104-Plus
modules, along with an expansion connector pre-routed for optional add-on
cards.
To ensure high reliability, signal integrity, and extended environment
operation, this high-performance vehicle-mount tactical computer comes
equipped with sealed MIL-38999 connectors, integrated EMI/EMC
filtering, watertight aluminum enclosure, aluminum railed card cage,
and near cable-less internal interconnect scheme. Locking circular
connectors bring out Gigabit and Fast Ethernet connections, 6 USB ports, 2
RS-232 ports, Dual Video Display (LCD/VGA), Keyboard, Mouse, and Audio
signals. An industrial-grade Solid State Disk (SSD) comes ready to boot
with a Linux operating system.
DURANET® 1268
The DuraNET 1268 is a rugged, Layer 2+ Gigabit Ethernet switch subsystem
equipped with ten (10) triple-speed 10/100/1000Mbps ports for connecting
IPv4 and IPv6 compatible computing devices in demanding military vehicle
LAN applications. It features an onboard microprocessor for local/remote
control and monitoring, as well as support for Quality of Service (QoS)
traffic prioritization, Virtual Local-Area Network (VLAN) trunking, and
Rapid Spanning Tree (RSP) redundancy.
Small and lightweight in form factor, yet robust in mechanical design, the
DuraNET 1268 switch serves an ideal COTS solution for manned and unmanned
vehicle programs upgrading to Gigabit Ethernet Local Area Network (LAN)
connections, Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) addressing, and Layer 2
QoS/CoS Traffic Prioritization.
AVAILABILITY
The DuraCOR 810-Duo and DuraNET 1268 are slated to go to production after
MIL-STD qualification testing is completed around early Q2 2009.
