Grupo Hevi Expands Deployment of Cedar Point SAFARI C3 to Four New Markets in Mexico

Cedar Point Communications, Inc.,
a worldwide leader in integrated Voice over IP (VoIP) switching
technologies for service providers and enterprise telecommunications
operators, and Grupo Hevi, a
leading cable system operator in Mexico, today announced that Cedar Point
is supporting the introduction of cable voice services to four new Grupo
Hevi markets.
Under the agreement, Grupo Hevi is deploying Cedar Point's SAFARI C3
Multimedia Switching System to deliver high-quality, highly-reliable
telephone service to subscribers in Aguascalientes, Nuevo Laredo, Puerto
Vallarta and Tampico as part of a bundled package of voice, video and
high-speed data services.
TVC, a Cedar Point reseller and support partner for the Latin American and
Caribbean markets, assisted Cedar Point in the completion of the agreement.
"Our initial deployments in conjunction with Cedar Point have proven both
the value of VoIP and the ability of SAFARI C3 to simply and
cost-effectively meet our needs," said Axel Vielma, CFO of Grupo Hevi. "We
look forward to building on our initial success and to providing new
services and telephony features to our subscribers in these additional
markets, as Cedar Point continues to add increased capabilities to SAFARI
C3."
"Grupo Hevi's rollout of VoIP has been a textbook example of how to do
things right," said Chris Zanyk, vice president, sales, North America
Region and CALA for Cedar Point Communications. "Their commitment to
outstanding product performance and quality customer service in their
initial rollouts has provided models that can be replicated for continued
success throughout their footprint in Mexico."
Cedar Point has shipped more than four million SAFARI C3 lines to customers
in the Americas, the Caribbean and Europe. SAFARI C3 supports up to
250,000 lines of capacity in less than a cubic yard of space, incorporating
all of the components that make up the voice switching infrastructure. It
is being deployed for residential and business services by a diverse
customer base that includes Cable System Operators, Competitive Local
Exchange Carriers (CLECs), Wireless Operators and Universities.
