SportZu.tv Adds Funding, Partners and Features

DENVER, Nov. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- SportZu.tv, the video based community of youth sport coaches, parents and athletes focused on education, communication and entertainment, continues to grow by recently completing bridge financing, adding new team partners and preparing to launch Version 2.0.

SportZu.tv CEO, David Ehrlich, "We are very exciting by the recent developments at the SportZu.tv Network and now attract over 10,000 unique visitors per month. With increased revenue and a new financing agreement, SportZu.tv is pointed toward a break even enterprise far sooner than we initially anticipated while continuing to develop new and existing partner relationships and technically enhancing our site offerings."

To further facilitate investment and site growth, SportZu.tv is pleased to announce that Chris Philpott will join the SportZu.tv executive team in a finance advisory role. Said Ehrlich, "Chris' experience with fund-raising and financial management within the internet video space will help immeasurably." Philpott most recently served as CFO of the venture backed firm, ManiaTV and helped the company raise over $10M in debt and equity funding during his tenure.

Concurrent with the financing agreement, SportZu.tv has expanded into new markets through recent partner acquisitions. SportZu.tv added video channels for the Calgary Roughnecks, Paradise Jam Basketball Tournament, Rochester Knighthawks and Rochester Americans. Further, SportZu.tv has expanded its video network with the addition of BBHighway.com, the premier online basketball coaching community.

With financing secured and new partners in place, SportZu.tv will release Version 2.0 in January, 2009. Version 2.0's improvements will include a cutting edge video player and play list carousel for individual and team syndication, enhanced team management and communication tools and a streamlined navigation structure. SportZu.tv President, Craig Jonas, describes, "We believe the upgraded elements will make it even simpler for our partners, coaches, parents and athletes to navigate, communicate, watch and share SportZu.tv's professionally produced and user-uploaded videos."
