Universal Mind Joins Intuit Partner Platform
Helping Developers Create Rich Internet Applications for Small Businesses
Universal Mind, Inc., a leading solutions
provider for Rich Internet
Applications (RIA), today announced it has joined the Intuit Partner Platform to
deliver workplace applications with dynamic rich Internet features to
Intuit's user community of more than four million small businesses. As part
of the Partner Platform, Universal Mind will not only create its own
applications, but will also be poised to help other platform participants
augment their applications with its rich Internet development expertise.
The Intuit Partner Platform enables developers to rapidly design, deploy
and market rich Internet applications that work with QuickBooks® and utilize Intuit's
proven on-demand infrastructure. By taking the complexity out of managing
infrastructure, hosting, user management, integration and billing, the
Intuit Partner Platform helps developers focus on creating innovative
on-demand software solutions that solve unique business problems. With
these new, enhanced applications, customers will gain unprecedented access
to their data within a cost-effective, distributed and reliable online
platform.
"Having Universal Mind join the Intuit Partner Platform is very exciting.
As one of the top Flex developers worldwide, Universal Mind brings deep
development skills that can transform ordinary applications into highly
usable applications that help people expose and visualize their data in
compelling and informative ways," said Alex Chriss, business leader for the
Intuit Partner Platform. "We value the expertise Universal Mind can provide
to our network of partners and customers and look forward to the high
quality and high value applications they will be delivering to our customer
base on Intuit Workplace."
"While many participating ISVs and developers have promising applications,
they often lack the deep RIA expertise to make them user friendly and
accessible for the SMB market," said Brett Cortese, president, Universal
Mind. "We are eager for the opportunity to help Intuit's Developer Network
enhance their applications with rich media functionality that will help
boost adoption and user experience and give customers the tools they need
to solve critical business problems."
Customer Explorer from SpatialKey to Demo at Adobe MAX
Universal Mind's first application for the Intuit Partner Platform,
Customer Explorer from SpatialKey, powered by SpatialKey, a web-based
reporting, analysis and mapping solution. The application allows customers
to quickly see geographic and temporal trends in their QuickBooks customer
data. Users can view interactive heat maps of their balances and filter by
time, job status or job type and drill down to specific customer and job
details. Street and satellite imagery in the application is provided by
MapQuest®. Users can also view thematic demographic data provided by
*Placebase's Pushpin® data and mapping service, which includes median
household income, in context with their own customer data.
"Customer Explorer from SpatialKey underscores the value of Intuit's new
Partner Platform," said Tom Link, CTO of Universal Mind. "QuickBooks
customers gain access to sophisticated geo-visualization of their data that
would ordinarily require sophisticated software, expertise and
integration. Universal Mind can easily extend its reach to Intuit's
customer base by providing a version of its SpatialKey technology on the
platform."
Universal Mind will showcase its beta applications, including Customer
Explorer from SpatialKey, at Adobe MAX in San Francisco, November 16-19 at
booth #209. The preview release of Customer Explorer from SpatialKey is now
available free at the Intuit Workplace, http://workplace.intuit.com.
*Pushpin is a registered trademark of Placebase.
