PETA Supporter Dumps Flour On Fur-clad Lindsay Lohan

Lindsay Lohan usually makes the news for what she doesn't wear (underwear), but today she's in the spotlight for what she does wear (fur).

"An anti-fur activist showered U.S. actress Lindsay Lohan with flour at a nightclub in Paris, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals said.

The actress, who was on her way into the Champs-Elysees club VIP Room just after 1 a.m. Saturday, had a bag of flour dumped over her head by a French activist who shouted, 'Lindsay Lohan -- fur hag!'

PETA said Lohan's hair and face were turned white in the incident. The group said the actress was targeted because she has enraged some animal lovers by appearing in at least two different fur coats, despite repeated pleas that she find something else to wear."

I don't advocate violence against anyone, even vapid celebrities, but I can't manufacture any sympathy or outrage over the indignity visited upon Lohan.

Lohan has a lot of influence, especially upon young girls, and it's irresponsible of her to wear fur. There is nothing glamorous or sexy about having the skin of a dead animal draped on your shoulders. Because of Lohan's penchant for wearing fur, we might see another generation of young girls grow up into fur-wearing women.

Lindsay looked very ridiculous with her hair and face covered with flour, but she looks even more absurd wearing fur coats. With synthetic furs that are almost impossible to tell from the genuine item, there is absolutely no excuse for anyone to don fur.

Lohan should use her power and influence to steer young girls in the right direction. She should stop wearing fur, and make anti-fur ads for PETA.
