Volunteering in Folsom is Easy, With New On-Line Data Base
Editor: Alan Gray, NewsBlaze
FOLSOM - Local and regional volunteer opportunities are now listed on the City of Folsom's website as part of a partnership with Hands On Sacramento and California Volunteers. Adults, students, Girl and Boy Scouts and service organizations will find links to a wide variety of volunteer options.
"This on-line listing makes it easy for residents to find information on volunteering for City programs such as the Zoo Sanctuary, trail system, Senior and Arts Center and library, as well as projects sponsored by local non-profit organizations," said Mayor Eric King, who initiated the volunteer and service project program. "The options for serving our community and making a positive difference are abundant."
The volunteer data base may be accessed at www.folsom.ca.us, Quick Links/Volunteer in Folsom. Many of the projects listed are ongoing, although some are seasonal. Potential volunteers can search for local opportunities under Animal Support, Arts and Culture, and Children and Youth. Volunteers must register on the site to submit an interest in a specific volunteer project.
