Masters of Giving Houses Veterans for the Holidays

Rancho Murieta based organization, Masters of Giving donated $10,000 to Soldiers' Angels of Northern California, a non-profit organization providing support to our local wounded, homeless and incarcerated veterans. The donation was accepted at the recent Folsom Chamber of Commerce mixer hosted by Sierra Vista Bank.

"We are proud to contribute to Soldiers' Angels and its very worthy mission to support our troops abroad and our veterans at home. We think it's important to recognize the soldiers and their efforts for our country," explained Greg Patton, Treasurer of Masters of Giving and President of Sierra Vista Bank.

The donation from Masters of Giving will help move 15 homeless veterans and their families into permanent housing this holiday season. The men and women receiving the aid range in age, but have similar stories. Each has served in a branch of the U.S. Military for several years and most have suffered from psychiatric problems since returning home.

"It fills my heart with joy to know Masters of Giving is helping us make such a difference in the lives of our soldiers and their families. It's funny the way things work out in life and I can't explain how this donation came at just the right time," said Louise Stanley, Soldiers' Angels Sacramento Team Leader.

Masters of Giving was formed in 2006 by a group of local business men, as a way for them to fulfill their passion for giving back to the community. The group holds an annual golf tournament to raise funds for the multiple charities they choose to help support. This year's tournament, held in May not only raised funds for Soldiers' Angels of Northern California, but also for The Firefighters Burn Institute and Young Life.
