Election Over, Don't Drop The Ball On Iran

The Elections are over. There is great euphoria for some and sadness for others but life goes on and we must all work together. There are many things we must do, especially with our economy in the state that it is in.

One thing that could easily be forgotten is the threat of Iran's nuclear capability.

It has been twenty nine years since the US embassy in Iran was stormed, a painful time for the US. This week in Iran, demonstrations were held to celebrate their effort against the Great Satan. There is still a great need to stop the threat of Iran and its terrorist proxies. We are far removed from many of their actions, but their actions continue.

Now is a perfect time for them to advance their agenda to take control of the game, with the US otherwise occupied with the next steps after the election and the financial and other crises going on. We did it to ourselves, but that is no reason to ignore this important security issue.

In the past few days, Hamas fired over thirty rockets from Gaza into southern Israel. Hamas is a proxy for Iran and their action could be a test to see if anyone is taking notice. We must ensure that we are taking notice of everything they do. President-Elect Obama may have a different plan for handling this, but ignoring it is hopefully not part of the plan.

Iran does not want stability in the region and their proxies are doing what they are told, but it is up to us to do our part to stop terrorism and to promote stability and peace.

The media can do its part in this by providing current, unbiased information about what is actually going on. As a Citizen, you can do your part by writing to the editor of your local papers and your elected officials.

Iran's extremist regime continues to brag about its nuclear pursuits and capabilities, just as Saddam Hussein did in Iraq. Such obfuscation makes it difficult to tell how advanced they are, because that makes it look like they are bluffing.

Iran uses its power to affect the global economy and supports terrorists who kill Americans and Israelis regularly. We must act before it's too late.

Make your voice heard and do your part to make the world a safer place.
