Finland Slaps DVD Release Of "Little House On The Prairie" With X-Rating
By Robert Paul Reyes
"Finland has rated the DVD release of the much-loved children's television series "Little House on the Prairie" suitable for adult viewing only." http://wizbangpop.com/2008/11/06/little-house-on-prairie-adultsonly-version.php
Did I miss an episode of the beloved family-friendly series that featured the Ingalls and the Oleson's having an orgy? Was the Little House on the Prairie a brothel at night? Or maybe the Finnish version of Little House is the deluxe Director's cut that includes the deleted scene of Mary Amelia Ingalls and Nellie Oleson frolicking nude in the prairie.
Actually there is an explanation why Finland has slapped the DVD release of Little House with an "adults only" rating.
"To save money, Universal Pictures decided not to submit the series to state inspection...
Finnish authorities charge 2 euros ($2.57) per minute for assessing the correct age limit on films and television series. Distributors who forego this can only sell their shows with a sticker saying 'Banned for under-18s.'" http://wizbangpop.com/2008/11/06/little-house-on-prairie-adultsonly-version.php
It's too bad that Little House is being sold with an adults only sticker, this will prevent many parents from buying it for their children.
