Great Lakes Aviation, Ltd. Reports October 2008 Traffic

CHEYENNE, Wyo., Nov. 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Great Lakes Aviation, Ltd. (OTC Bulletin Board: GLUX) today announced preliminary passenger traffic results for the month of October 2008.

Scheduled service generated 13,742,000 revenue passenger miles (RPM's), an 8.4 percent decrease from the same month last year. Available seat miles (ASM's) increased 10.1 percent to 32,970,000. As a result, load factor decreased 8.5 points to 41.68 percent. Passengers carried decreased 9.3 percent to 49,290 when compared to October 2007. Preliminary revenue per available seat mile (RASM) increased 8.0 percent from 29.91 cents to 32.29 cents.

For the ten months ending October 31, 2008 compared to the same ten month period in 2007, revenue passenger miles (RPM's) decreased 1.0 percent to 130,833,000 and available seat miles (ASM's) increased 12.1 percent to 297,924,000, resulting in a load factor of 43.91 percent for the year 2008 effecting a decrease in load factor of 5.8 points compared to the same ten month period in 2007. The company carried 484,987 revenue passengers for the ten month period ending October 31, 2008, which was relatively unchanged from the prior year. Preliminary revenue per available seat mile (RASM) increased 5.2 percent from 29.78 cents to 31.33 cents on a year-over-year basis.
