Spoken Rhythm. A new genre in music has been born. Spoken Rhythm, a new face in music proves to be an eloquent unification of spoken word and music. A true embodiment of poetry, Spoken Rhythm blends gospel, rhythm & blues and traditional blues music.
Chicago - September 8, 2008 - Frank Pete, the creator and visionary of Spoken Rhythm can add acting as another notch on his belt. Pete starred alongside Johnny Gill, Shirley Murdock and Tank in John Ruffin's hit play All For Love. All For Love is a traveling stage play that features a rotating cast. Entertainers such as Bobby Brown, Tamika Scott (Xscape), James DeBarge, Tatyana Ali, Monifah and Howard Hewett have appeared in Ruffin's past plays.
Pete proves to be poetry in motion. He made his acting debut starring in Ruffin's No More Sheets earlier this year. An intriguing writer and actor, performance comes naturally to Pete. He speaks on joining the cast, "I never imagined that I would be an actor. I have always liked performing. It is an inspiration to be able to work with talents like Bobby Brown and Johnny Gill."
His life has not always been filled with glitz and glamour. After dropping out of college at the age of 18, Pete entered the U. S. Air Force. He graduated from a special selection course making him the first African American to pass in ten years. However, his bad temper and violent behavior coupled with heavy drinking led him to being kicked out of the Air Force after two short years.
When Pete was discharged from the Air Force he succumbed to the streets, joining a gang and selling drugs. Reality set in and his life flashed before his eyes after his car was shot up. Pete now lives with power and purpose. He re-entered college, graduated with high honors and was a model student throughout his collegiate years. It was during that time his life's true passion was revealed, performing. He picked up a pen and never sat it down. His diligence led him to create a movement, Spoken Rhythm. A new genre in music has been born. Spoken Rhythm, a new face in music proves to be an eloquent unification of spoken word and music. A true embodiment of poetry, Spoken Rhythm blends gospel, rhythm & blues and traditional blues music.
A man of honor, dignity and purpose, Frank Pete founded F.L.O.A. (For Tha Love of the Art) Records. He remains a leader in his community and is committed to change.
