The Foundation was established in 1948 by Mark L. Morris Sr., a
veterinarian whose research into canine nutrition saved millions of dogs from
kidney failure and revolutionized the pet food industry. Today, the Foundation
is the world's largest nonprofit funding research to help protect, treat and
cure animals, including companion animals, horses and wildlife. The research
also benefits practicing veterinarians inthe United States and throughout the
world.
"We work to improve veterinary medicine by giving veterinarians the tools
to better prevent, diagnose and treat animal diseases and health issues," said
Patricia N. Olson, DVM, Ph.D., President/CEO of Morris Animal Foundation. "The
Wells Fargo Health Advantage credit card program fits our mission because it
provides veterinarians with another tool for providing service and care to
their clients and helps pet parents keep their animals healthy. We'll use the
Wells Fargo contribution to fund research that further improves veterinary
medicine."
The Wells Fargo Health Advantage credit card offers pet owners flexible
payment options for veterinary care. "Our card provides no interest payment
plan options, which help pet owners choose recommended veterinary treatment
for their pets," said Gary Brown, product manager, Wells Fargo Financial
Retail Services. "Everyone wants the best care for their pets, but veterinary
expenses are often unplanned. The Wells Fargo Health Advantage credit card
lets clients pay for treatment over time. We're thrilled to team with Morris
Animal Foundation because we share a common goal: improving pets' health and
well-being."
The Wells Fargo Health Advantage credit card program also helps
veterinarians improve case acceptance and production. "With the Wells Fargo
Health Advantage credit card, veterinarians can concentrate on helping pets,"
said Brown. "Program provider rates are highly competitive, and the payment
plan variety allows veterinarians to choose the right options for their
practice and clients. In addition, the program features fast, easy-to-use
online application, payment processing and reporting functions that save time
and effort for the veterinary staff."
