Joe Lieberman: Thank God She's Not Going To Be President From Day One

By Robert Paul Reyes

"Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-CT), a campaign surrogate of Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), gave a surprising statement over the weekend about what he thought about Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.

Replying to a question from The Stamford Advocate during a conference call on Friday, Lieberman said of Palin, 'Thank God she's not going to have to be president from day one. McCain's going to be alive and well.'

He added, 'Let's hope she never has to be ready because we hope McCain is elected and live out his term,' Lieberman said. 'But if, God forbid, an accident occurs or something of that kind, she'll be ready. She's had executive experience. She's smart. And she will have had on-the-job training.'"http://www.allheadlinenews.com/articles/7012803959

Sen. John McCain's first choice to be his running mate was Sen. Joe Lieberman, but his high-level campaign staffers convinced him that selecting the pro-choice senator would not play well with the base. In a desperate, cynical, and reckless move McCain opted for Sarah Palin, a born again conservative beloved by the base, but who's the least qualified and experienced vice-presidential candidate in history.

Lieberman sprinkles his speeches and comments with references to the deity, but that doesn't impress evangelicals because the Jewish senator doesn't believe in the deity of Jesus Christ.

When McCain announced his incomprehensible decision, Lieberman, Romney, Ridge and all the other rejected vice-presidential suitors praised the selection of Palin. It was quite a spectacle, none of these statesmen had the guts to say that the empress wasn't wearing any clothes.

But in a moment of candor Lieberman finally revealed his true feelings about Palin to a reporter from the Stamford Advocate.

Lieberman isn't a prophet, if the senile McCain manages an upset he could very well croak on his first day in office. It's presumptuous of Joe the sanctimonious prig to thank God that Palin won't have to be president from day one.

Palin has executive experience, but so does a Burger King manager. If Palin has to assume the presidency after only a few days after the inauguration, it would be an unqualified disaster for America.

The most important qualification for a vice-president is to be ready to be president on DAY ONE. If a vice-president needs on-the-job training, it's proof that the top of the ticket made a horrible choice.

Holy Joe should be ashamed of himself by putting party loyalty and friendship over what's good for America. Lieberman knew that Palin was woefully unprepared to be vice-president, but he still praised her to high heaven when McCain announced her as his running mate.
