Super Star Theater and Accompanying Website Set the Stage for Kids' Charity Giving at the Holidays

Pint-sized fundraising just gained a
powerful new tool as kids do their part to change the world: the Deluxe
"Super Star Theater" and www.SuperStarTheater.org. Developed by Lisa LeLeu
Studios to coincide with the holiday giving season, the child-sized
indoor/outdoor theater allows kids and parents to safely and easily post
video performances on the related website. Automatically distributed to an
email list specified by the actors and/or parents, the videos raise money
for a good cause chosen by the kids themselves.

"Using the Super Star Theater as a stage, children sing a song, do a dance,
show off a pet, tell a joke, act out a skit -- anything sweet, silly or
serious," says Lisa LeLeu, founder of the Pennsylvania-based toy
manufacturer. "They then choose a charity, post the video and our website
emails the link and fundraising requests to anyone they choose. This method
is perfect for charitable gifts during the holidays." Those who have
participated raised money for Feed the Children, Unicef, Make A Wish
Foundation, Big Brothers Big Sisters and World Vision as well as schools,
local charities and families in need.
Likely launched by Alex's Lemonade Stand, youth fundraising efforts have
taken off and experts say that's a great thing for everybody involved.
According to the Association of Fundraising Professionals, youth
fundraising can transform young people, enabling them to lead, make
decisions, partner with adults and think critically. Further, their efforts
produce positive, tangible results that increase self-esteem while helping
others. The theatrical process itself also is a boon for young minds.
Research shows that reading skills and literacy learning increase as kids
practice roles. Acting also brushes up oral fluency, presentation skills,
concentration and cooperation abilities.
When the show must go on for charity or just for fun, the 60-inch-tall
Deluxe "Super Star Theater" easily accommodates an eager cast of three or
more pint-sized performers. Actors draw a front curtain aside when the show
begins, showcasing a fanciful backdrop scene that conceals actors awaiting
cues backstage. Three other venues on the theater's back and outside panels
complete authentic show experiences: a dressing room, ticket booth and
refreshment stand. Super Star Theater converts to a puppet theater with a
Velcro panel and three included puppets.
Not available in comparable products, fun scripts jumpstart stage shows in
minutes or spark inspiration for young playwrights. Embellish productions
with 20 accompanying accessories. Assembling in minutes, Super Star Theater
easily rolls up for storage in the sturdy 24 by 13 by 5-inch box festooned
with authentic trunk details. The Deluxe Super Star Theater is available
