New Positioning for a New Economy

It's no surprise that the bailout on Wall Street, the economic showdown between the banks and the government, as well as the turmoil that's gripping the nation, is going to have enormous consequences on the citizens of this great country. Businesses are already finding themselves in unfamiliar territory, and if it is unfamiliar, it's certainly unwelcome territory.

The losers in every situation are always the employees of the companies that employ them. As credit tightens and the availability of cash shrinks, businesses will have to make hard choices, and unfortunately, sometimes those hard choices will end up being taken out on innocent bystanders. Those innocent bystanders are going to have to take care of themselves and my advice is to get out in front of the wave before the wave comes crashing down on you.

I wrote about the opportunity that will come to entrepreneurs from (what was several months ago) the upcoming financial problems about to grip the country. At that time I predicted that some entrepreneurs will be the big winners because companies will want to outsource even more services to more specialized companies. You can review that article from 5 months ago at: http://is.gd/tLT.

Joel Block Business Growth

It's a rare person who voluntarily makes a change. Most of the time, change comes violently when it's thrust upon you. The truth is that the change is going to happen whether you like it or not; it's simply a matter of whether you take the first step or somebody else takes the first step or forces you to take the first step. One way or the other, many people are going to be reorganized right out of a job.

For those people, reinvention is in your future, and you have to embrace reinvention with enthusiasm and passion. Reinvention provides you with an opportunity to be the person that you've wanted to be, even though your environment may have held you back in the past.

So much of the material that we teach entrepreneurs applies to individuals, and I urge you to review my website and several of the posts that we've made - because as the economy tightens up and as the likelihood for change heats up, I want you to be prepared to be thrust into a new situation. You may currently be a corporate employee, but not long from now you may find that the only place that you'll be safe is a new situation, and where the only person that will take care of you is you, and that will be in an entrepreneurial environment.

So, as you are working hard every day to build your company, or as you're building your career, embrace reinvention. Get out in front of problems. Take the first step before someone hands it to you. You're always better off to be aggressive, and you're always better off to be prepared. Whether you take the first step voluntarily or by force, tools exist for you to get out, get up, and carry your pride high because the entrepreneur business will welcome you warmly.
