Jewish and Christmas Authors Team up to Provide Transformational Information
Just as Christmas falls during the eight days of Chanukah this year, Jewish author and speaker Nina Amir will team up with Christmas author and podcast host Bernadette Dimitrov, otherwise known as "Mrs. Claus" of "Conversations with Mrs. Claus," to enlighten listeners about the universal nature of these two holidays. Amir and Dimitrov will celebrate Chanukah and Christmas with two special podcasts during December to educate listeners about these transformational elements and the ways in which all people, no matter their religious background or spiritual beliefs, can take advantage of the energy and spirit of the season.
Despite the commercial focus of the holidays in so many countries, Dimitrov says, "Christmas is about light, luminosity, and illuminating our consciousness to create joy, happiness and peace. This is our gift to ourselves, our families, our communities, and, ultimately, the world."
According to Amir, Chanukah revolves around a fight for religious freedom, against assimilation, but it stresses the miracles of a small band of soldiers winning a battle against a large army and a small jug of oil burning not just for one day but for eight. "Out of this story we can take a greater message - that we should all be allowed to live together peacefully no matter our religious beliefs and that miracles can happen. We can make miracles happen by raising our consciousness, by giving unconditionally, by accepting each other, by practicing compassion and empathy, and shining our light out onto the world."
Both women agree, it matters little if you celebrate Chanukah or Christmas, one fact remains true: The overlapping of the two holidays this year provides an opportunity for Jews and Christians - indeed, people of all faiths - to come together and focus on consciously creating the world in which they want to live. "At Christmas-time we often talk about Peace on Earth and goodwill towards man. Now is the time to live that, to make that happen," says Dimitrov.
Amir echoes this sentiment: "Jews says the miracles of Chanukah happened 'not by might but by Spirit.' This season is the time to call on Spirit - no matter by what name you call It or where you believe It exists. The holiday season provides us with a time to focus on creating change in a totally different manner - consciously, deliberately."
"Conversations with Mrs. Claus," a podcast exploring transformational tips and tools for teachers, parents and kids, is a weekly show downloaded by 85,000 listeners each month in more than 90 countries. Normally, Dimitrov - in the role of Mrs. Claus, interviews Amir, who once a month serves as the holiday and spirituality expert for the show. Dimitrov will, as usual interview Amir for the Chanukah show, which Airs on December 8. For a change of pace, however, Amir will interview Ms. Claus about Christmas for a show that will air on December 23. Together they will share fun, uplifting, transformational, and fascinating insights, tips and tools for the holiday season.
Each week on her podcast show, Dimitrov, the author of The Ho Ho Ho Factor! and Australia's Bluey The Blue Kangaroo, Santa's New Kangaroo Reindeer Recruit, visits experts, North Pole characters, best-selling authors, celebrities, film producers, coaches, and other fascinating guests who share tips, tools and resources to help everyone live a happier, healthier, and more joyous, fulfilled, and enriched life. Guests keep listeners inspired and entertained as they join show host Mrs. Claus.

Amir, a journalist and the author of The Kabbalah of Conscious Creation and From Empty Practice to Meaning-full and Spirit-full Prayers and Rituals...in Seven Simple Steps!, first appeared as a guest on "Conversations with Ms. Claus" in January 2008 to discuss how to create change rather than simply make New Year's resolutions. Dimitrov then asked her to join the podcast once a month to discuss how to make holidays meaningful and spiritual no matter what your beliefs, as well as a variety of other spiritually-related topics. Amir writes and speaks about practical spirituality, human potential and personal growth from a Jewish, as well as a secular, perspective, although her teachings tend to cross religious and spiritual lines. Her emphasis lies in helping all people learn to live their lives more fully, which is no different from Dimitrov's goal with "Conversations with Mrs. Claus."
For this reason, the two women both feel they are well aligned in terms of their goals and purposes and, therefore, make a good team. Thus, each month they bring together their diverse backgrounds to bridge the Judeo-Christian religious and spiritual worlds and to offer listeners inspirational tools and tips. However, this holiday season the fact that Christmas and Chanukah overlap provides them with a unique opportunity to fulfill their purpose. They will culminate a year of working together with their two December podcast shows. In particular, the reversal of roles, with Amir hosting Dimitrov offers listeners a chance to hear the wisdom of "Mrs. Claus."
