"Vegas 360°," the latest panoramic book by Cincinnati photographer Thomas Schiff, will debut with an exhibition of photos from the book at the Las Vegas Art Museum from October 25 through November 30. A grand opening reception for the book and the exhibition will be held at the Museum on Friday, October 24 from 5-7 p.m.

The book, which includes 77 panoramic photos of the Las Vegas skyline and iconic architecture, will be released to coincide with the opening of the exhibition, featuring 20 photographs from the book.

Photographs included in the book range from a panoramic sunrise over the Strip, to the Fremont Street area, to lobbies and pool areas of a number of hotels, to the Neon Museum "Boneyard" of unrestored historic Vegas signage.

Since 1994 Mr. Schiff has worked with a Hulcherama 360° panoramic camera, traveling the United States in search of inspiring subjects. Today, his work resides in a number of permanent collections and historical societies. His photographs also have been exhibited in galleries and museums both nationally and internationally.

Mr. Schiff has previously published three books showcasing his full-color, panoramic photographs: "Panoramic Cincinnati" (1999, published by Lightborne Publications in conjunction with the Wellness Community), "Panoramic Ohio" (2002, published by the Cincinnati Art Museum) and "Panoramic Parks" (2005, published by the Cincinnati Parks Board). Mr. Schiff also is working on a panoramic book of Frank Lloyd Wright houses, as well as on the architecture of Columbus, Indiana, U.S.-based religious sites and vintage movie theaters.

The book, "Vegas 360°," features an introduction by art critic Dave Hickey and essays from David Surratt, A.D. Hopkins, Douglas Unger, Kim Thomas, Phil Hagen, Benedetta Pignatelli and Matthew O'Brien. Proceeds from the sale of the book benefit the Las Vegas Art Museum.

The book will be on sale at the Las Vegas Art Museum for $39.95. For more information, visit www.lasvegasartmuseum.org or call (702) 360-8000.

Note to media: Tom Schiff is available for interview via phone or in Las Vegas from October 23-25. Photographs from "Vegas 360°" are available at http://media.gamedaypr.com (Click on the "Vegas 360°" file).
