Inaugural 'Share the Memories Visitor Photo Contest' for Walt Disney World Resort

TALLAHASSEE, Fla., Oct. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- DisPhotoClub.com is a new online photography community for all visitors aged 13 and older who take vacation and amateur-level photographs at Disney Resorts. The inaugural photo contest will begin on October 10, 2008 with members being able to register photos initially from the Walt Disney World Resort and in November from the Disneyland California Resort. We look forward to expanding the photo contest to all other Disney Properties in early 2009.

The online photography community is open and free to beginning and amateur photographers aged 13 and older to register photographs and videos of their visits to various Disney Properties and to create a personal online photo and video gallery. The website has been designed to easily browse registered photographs by Disney features such as attractions, entertainments, and characters, and also by members and contest categories.

For a guest member to participate in the Share the Memories photo contest, a fee of either $5 or $25 will provide the member with either 30 or 300 points, respectively, in which to register that number of photographs into the contest between October 10, 2008 and December 31, 2008 (see contest rules for further information). The first 100 members who pay the $25 fee will have a lifetime membership to the DisPhotoClub website and will receive 300 contest points each contest year.

The community's members will judge the Photo of the Day winners, with each winner receiving an additional 5 contest points. Invited judges or the site administrator will select the winning Photos of the Month by category with each winner receiving 30 contest points and an overall "Best Photograph of the Month" winner receiving a Flip Video.

The categories of the photography contest are Attractions and Entertainment, Disney Characters, Fireworks Displays, Holiday Decorations, Kids' Activities, Parades, and Special Events.

Members retain all rights to their photographs and may delete them and their account at any time; however, photographs entered into the contest may only be registered one time.
