MND-B Soldiers detain suspected criminals

BAGHDAD - Multi-National Division - Baghdad Soldiers detained five suspected criminals during combat operations in the in the Rashid district of southern Baghdad, Oct. 10.

After receiving a tip from a concerned Iraqi citizen at approximately midnight, Soldiers from Company D, 1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment, attached to the 7th Squadron, 10th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, arrested a Sons of Iraq leader for making threats toward local community members. The patrol returned to a Coalition forces combat outpost with the detainee for further processing.

At approximately 1:45 a.m. in the Jihad community, Soldiers from the Scout Platoon, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Bn., 22nd Inf. Regt., 1st BCT, 4th Inf. Div., detained two suspected criminals during a raid in the Jihad community. The patrol delivered the suspects to a Coalition force base for processing.

Soldiers from Company A, 4th Battalion, 64th Armor Regiment, attached to the 1st BCT, 4th Inf. Div., arrested two suspected criminals and confiscated 15 passports, a computer tower, a flash drive, and an unknown number of miscellaneous documents at approximately 1:45 a.m. in the Bayaa community. The patrol delivered the suspects to a CF base for processing. "The 1st 'Raider' Brigade remains steadfast in its effort to rid the Rashid district of criminals," said Maj. Dave Olson, spokesman, 1st BCT 4th Inf. Div. "Combined patrols with Iraqi Security and Coalition forces continue on a daily basis to provide a safe and secure environment for the Iraqi People."
