Alaska Airlines, Horizon Air Offer Fall Fare Sale to West Coast

SEATTLE, Oct. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air have launched a fall sale featuring low fares to many of the carriers' destinations in the Lower 48. The one-way fares start as low as $49 for Horizon Air flights inWashington andOregon and $69 for Alaska Airlines flights to the Bay Area.

"Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air cover the West with more flights to more destinations on the West Coast than any other airline," said Steve Jarvis, Alaska Airlines' vice president of marketing, sales and customer experience. "We're hoping that customers will take advantage of these low fares and our great schedules to plan a fall getaway before the holidays."

Customers should act fast, as tickets must be purchased by Oct. 23 for travel from Oct. 24 through Dec. 17, 2008.

Sample one-way fares are: $49 betweenPortland andRedmond/Bend, Ore.; $69 betweenSeattle andSan Francisco; $99 betweenPortland andPhoenix; $109 betweenSeattle andOrange County, Calif.; $129 betweenSeattle andPalm Springs, Calif.; and $130 betweenSeattle andMinneapolis/St. Paul. (The carrier begins twice-daily, nonstop service betweenSeattle andthe Twin Cities on Oct. 26.)

Alaska Airlines and sister carrier Horizon Air together offer more than 75 daily roundtrip flights betweenSeattle and 16 California airports. They are the only airlines serving all five Bay Area airports:Oakland,Sacramento,San Francisco,San Jose andSanta Rosa; and all five major airports inSouthern California:Burbank,Long Beach,Los Angeles,Ontario andOrange County.

Fare Rules: Seats are limited and subject to availability. Tickets must be purchased by Oct. 23, 2008. Travel must be completed between Oct. 24, 2008, and Dec. 17, 2008. Tickets must be purchased within 24 hours of making your reservation and at least 14 days prior to your departure. Blackout dates are Nov. 26 and 30, 2008. Passengers may check one bag for free. A second bag may be checked for $25. A fee of $100 will be assessed for each additional checked bag. Additional fees apply to overweight or oversized checked baggage. These fares may be purchased at alaskaair.com or horizonair.com provided the itinerary is no more than eight segments long (a ground segment constitutes one leg of your itinerary). These fares are non-refundable. These fares are only available on Alaska Airlines and/or Horizon Air. Changes made through an Alaska Airlines/Horizon Air Reservation Call Center or Airport Ticket Counter incur a $100 (USD) per person change fee plus applicable fees and any difference in fare. Changes made at alaskaair.com incur a $75 (USD) per person change fee plus applicable fees and any difference in fare.

Fares are subject to change without notice. Traveler is responsible for the following taxes and fees, as applicable: Airport Passenger Facility Charges of up to $9 (amount depends on itinerary), Federal Segment Tax of $3.50 per segment (takeoff and landing), U.S. Security Fee of $2.50 per enplanement.
