Legendary Boston Bargain Store Filene's Basement Debuts in South Florida
AVENTURA, Fla., Oct. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Filene's Basement, theBoston
landmark where brides-to-be trample for cheap gowns and bargain hunters search
the racks for deals, will open inAventura on October 15. The store will
occupy 40,000 square feet on two floors at 176th and Biscayne Boulevard, the
former location of Carle's Furniture.

Most of Filene's Basement's merchandise comes from manufacturers. The
buyers combthe United States for good deals by American designers and make
frequent trips toEurope to scout out Italian, French and German labels at the
right price. The store is also known for its "retail stock," fashion apparel
that Filene's Basement's buyers pick up at deeply discounted prices when
high-end stores are clearing end-of-season merchandise.
The Basement sells fashion apparel for men and women, high quality basics,
intimate apparel, shoes and accessories.
Filene's Basement is also known for its "Running of the Brides" sale,
where brides-to-be and their helpers rush to the racks to snag the gown of
their dreams at a bargain price. The event is being planned for January 16,
2009 at theAventura store.
