Commerce Bank and TD Banknorth Motivated Kids to Read 150,000 Books During Summer Vacation

The Summer Reading Program encourages kids to sharpen their reading skills during summer vacation and additionally provides a goal for them to learn the importance of saving money. From May to September 30, Commerce Bank and TD Banknorth deposited $10 into the new or existing savings account of kids who read a minimum of 10 books over the summer.

"We recognize the importance of keeping one's reading skills strong even when school's out, and we're proud to reward kids who do just that."

As part of its Summer Reading Program, Commerce Bank and TD Banknorth performed educational outreach with local schools, libraries and other youth-focused organizations in their communities.
