Dateline Sudan: Women Arrested For Wearing Tight Jeans
By Robert Paul Reyes
In America we write songs praising women with the good sense to wear tight jeans:
Skin Tight
You are a bad bad Mrs.
In them skin tight britches
Runnin' folks in ditches
Baby about to bust the stitches, yeah
Skin tight (skin tight)
wow skin tight
(doo doo doo doo doo)
Skin tight
Hold tight!
But in less enlightened corners of the world some people look askance at ladies clad in tight trousers.
"South Sudan's president shut down a police investigation Wednesday that saw scores of young women arrested for "disturbing the peace" by wearing tight trousers." Reuters
Keep in mind that Sudan's semi-autonomous south has a laissez-faire approach to personal freedoms compared to the Muslim north. The morality police in the north would probably publicly flog a lady with the temerity to wear tight jeans.
A pox on both houses, Sudan's Christian south enclave and the Muslim north should leave women the hell alone. Organized religion is an abomination and freedom-loving people shouldn't allow religious fanatics to take over the government.
