Srinagar, Oct 9: The Jammu and Kashmir Coordination Committee (JKCC), spearheading agitation in the restive Kashmir, has called for a civil curfew on Saturday to protest against the visit of the Indian Prime Minister.
Addressing media here, JKCC co-chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq called on people in Kashmir to observe civil curfew on Saturday to protest the visit of Indian Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh.
The Indian Prime Minister will be arriving Kashmir on Friday evening and will be inaugurating a trial run of train in Srinagar on Saturday.
The Kashmiri separatist leader also called for a half-day shutdown in Kashmir on Friday.
"The protests and civil curfew will convey a message to the Indian and international community that the Kashmir dispute should be solved according to the aspirations of the people here," added Mirwaiz.
He further said that programme for the "Lal Chowk March" will be given soon. The authorities in Kashmir have prevented the "Lal Chowk March" of the separatists twice. They imposed curfew on August 25 and October 6 to foil the "Lal Chowk March" of the separatists.
