Point Break LIVE! Postpones Vegas Performances Effective Immediately

Point Break LIVE! Temporarily Postpones Performances as the Production Relocates to a New Venue

"Point Break LIVE!" the absurdist stage adaptation of the 1992 Keanu Reeves/Patrick Swayze extreme-sports blockbuster, which began performances at Planet Hollywood's Variety Theater, on the Las Vegas Strip on October 1, has temporarily postponed performances, effective immediately, as it searches for more intimate accommodations that the producers state, "will be more conducive to the full-immersion characteristics that the play requires."

Since it's Seattle debut in 2003, "Point Break LIVE!" has performed to sell-out crowds and rave reviews in Seattle, Minneapolis, New York City, Los Angeles and San Francisco - the latter receiving a City Proclamation from Mayor Gavin Newsom - while garnering international acclaim. Described by Australia's PopMag.com, as "a cross between reality TV, a play, and all-time classic film Point Break, every show features a new unrehearsed actor (selected from the audience), playing 'Johnny Utah' with the lines read off cue-cards so as to capture Keanu Reeves raw acting talent."

Producer Eve Hars states, "The V Theater, although great for the purposes it usually serves, is not appropriate for an intimate and immersive punk rock theater experience like Point Break LIVE! Distracting aesthetic issues, combined with unforeseen and irreparable audio and lighting issues, broke up the continuity and intimacy of the performance, thereby leading us to decide the V Theater was not fitting for Point Break LIVE!"

Continuing, Ms. Hars states, "We can't fault the theater for any of the issues, and I cannot begin to express our gratitude to David Saxe and the Variety Theater staff in assisting us with trying to correct and compensate for the issues we encountered. Everyone gave it their best effort to make the production work. We're confident that Point Break LIVE!, with its armed robbery, big-wave surfing, car chases, explosions, two extended skydiving sequences and its indoor monsoon will be back to its best production value once it has quickly relocated a new venue."

Ticket holders can receive a full credit for purchased tickets by either visiting the Variety Theater, Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino, 3663 Las Vegas Blvd South, Ste. 360, Las Vegas, NV 89109 or by calling the box office at Phone: (702) 260-7200.

... "In a nutshell: About the most dead-on dose of hilarity to ever be on stage." LA.COM ... "So hideously over the top, you can't stop laughing." - LA WEEKLY ... "Can only be described as all-encompassing, wet, interactive, loud, extreme, and altogether awesome." - LA2Day.com ... "'Point Break LIVE!' shamelessly rides the gnarly breakers of travesty until viewers wipe out on the shoals of helpless laughter." - LA TIMES ... "'Point Break LIVE!' turns out to be a wild ride." - SAN FRANCISCO WEEKLY ... "The fact that the movie is a surf saga and doesn't necessarily lend itself to an adaptation for the stage is what makes the show all the more ridiculous and a must-see." - SAN FRANCISCO EXAMINER ... "What the play lacked in big Hollywood budget, it more than made up for in good, old fashioned slapstick comedy and deliciously awkward moments. There is so much action in 'Point Break LIVE!' that it was amazing the tiny theater didn't collapse." - SANTA CRUZ SENTINEL
