MND-B Soldiers arrest suspected SG criminals

FORWARD OPERATING BASE FALCON, Iraq - Multi-National Division - Baghdad Soldiers arrested a suspected Special Groups criminal and confiscated illegal weapons in his possession Oct. 8 in the Rashid district of southern Baghdad.

At approximately 2 a.m., Soldiers from Troop B, 7th Squadron, 10th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, detained a SG criminal believed to be responsible for emplacing roadside bombs and the murder of innocent Iraqi citizens while conducting a raid in the Hadar community.

The patrol confiscated an AK-47 assault rifle, one pistol and various bomb-making materials during the arrest. The patrol returned to a Coalition forces combat outpost with the detainee and weapons for further processing.

"The 1st 'Raider' Brigade continues to take the fight to the enemy working alongside their counterparts, the Iraqi Security Forces, even as we transition to tactical over-watch in many of the areas of Rashid," said Maj. Dave Olson, 1st BCT spokesperson. "With the cooperation of Iraqi citizens and the ISF, our Soldiers are ridding Rashid of criminals and violence."
