Upcoming 'Energy Psychology' Event - New Breakthrough 'Do It Yourself' Healing
CHAPEL HILL, N.C., Oct. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Seasoned psychologists are
moving beyond classic "talk therapy" with a dynamic new set of natural
treatment techniques that are providing stunning results -- especially with
chronic health conditions such as pain, stress, anxiety, phobias, weight loss,
and even deep trauma including Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Known
as "Energy Psychology" (and crossing over into "Energy Medicine"), published
studies are validating the dramatic patient experience. In a study currently
underway at the University of Virginia working with veterans of theIraq war
suffering from PTSD, researchers found that the use of Energy Psychology
methods, EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques), has dramatically lowered levels
of the stress hormone, cortisol. The results were so surprising that the
independent lab conducting the measurement actually checked the results three
times because they thought the remarkable findings had to be a mistake. An
article published in the journal Traumatology reported EP approaches have been
highly effective (over 90%) in eliminating the effects of trauma in disasters
in hundreds of cases in 12 countries. The article reported EP techniques were
equally effective in dealing with the negative effects of war and torture.
Nancy Schaub ofPittsburgh, PA reports, "After 5 back surgeries, I was on
pain medication at home for 7 months and was able to get off all meds in 3 to
4 weeks using the TFT (Thought Field Therapy) technique. I look at my life
now like a person who has a second chance -- going from eight to ten narcotic
pills a day down to none; allowing me to live a normal life, not controlled by
pain 24 hours a day. TFT literally saved my life."
Dr. David Gruder, founding president of the leading instructional and
certifying organization in the new field, the Association for Comprehensive
Energy Psychology (ACEP), explains the underlying principle of EP by quoting
Nobel Prize winner (Chemistry 1993) Rod MacKinnon, a biophysicist at
Rockefeller University, "All of life is electrical." Explains Gruder, "Just as
we have a circulatory system, a nervous system, etc., we also appear to have
an additional system that helps regulate all of these. This additional system
has been well-known to practitioners of traditional Chinese Medicine for
thousands of years and appears to be primarily electromagnetic." Commonly
known as "tapping," some of the EP techniques stem from Eastern principles of
acupuncture and acupressure. The simple-to-learn routines vary depending on
the condition and, once mastered, may be done by patients on their own.
ACEP is hosting a free introductory seminar on Energy Psychology which
will be held on Friday, October 31st at the Sheraton Hotel,Chapel Hill, at
7:30 p.m. The next day, an all-day workshop will delve into more in-depth
techniques for applying the healing benefits of this new, accessible treatment
option designed for at-home use. The public as well as healing professionals
are invited to attend one or both sessions. For registration of more
information, visit http://www.EPheals.com or contact ACEP at 619.861.2237.
