New Software Release for iStor Storage Solutions Adds High Availability [HA] Capability for Both 1GbE and 10GbE Versions of the iS512 iSCSI Storage Solutions

iStor Networks, Inc.® (www.istor.com), a leader in high performance iSCSI storage solutions for IP SANs, today announced that it has begun shipping the latest version of its highly functional software, v2.5, as a no-cost upgrade for all its iSCSI storage solutions. This software will provide dual-controller iS512 systems with the ability to automatically detect malfunctions in the operational controller and to switch to the redundant controller without loss of data, function or performance.

"This new software capitalized on the patented capabilities of iStor's ASIC technology enabling HA capability with no impact upon system performance before, during or after a controller failure," said Jim Wayda, iStor's VP of Software Development. "We believe that this capability is unique in the industry and, for the first time, brings high performance HA solutions for IP SANs within the reach of the SMB market. Customers can now use either multi1GbE or 10GbE versions of iS512 HA solutions in mission critical and business critical applications such as those supporting server virtualization, SQL Server, Exchange and Oracle databases."

The release of the v2.5 software with it's HA capability is an important milestone in the extension of the iS512 product family to meet the demanding needs of today's SMB data center.
