NEW YORK, Sept. 26, 2008 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Attorney Advertising -- Abraham & Abraham Attorneys and Counselors at Law, LLC announces that it is investigating potential civil securities claims against Medicis Pharmaceutical Corp. pertaining to allegations that Medicis issued materially inaccurate financial statements to the investing public. On September 24, 2008, Medicis announced that the Company's financial statements for the annual, transition and quarterly periods in fiscal years 2003 through 2007 and the first and second quarters of 2008, should no longer be relied upon and would likely be restated due to, among other things, the Company's sales return reserve calculations. Medicis also announced that it was suspending its 2008 financial guidance due in part to these accounting issues. The September 24, 2008 announcement caused the Company's stock to fall dramatically. Thus, Abraham & Abraham is investigating potential civil claims against Medicis for violation of the federal securities laws and is preparing a class action complaint.
