Kashmiri Leader Could Not Offer Friday Prayers in Ramadan

Srinagar, Sept 26: The senior Kashmiri separatist leader, Syed Ali Shah Geelani could not offer any Friday prayer in the mosque during the holy month of Ramadan as he was put under house arrest during the most part of the month.
On Friday (September 26), the separatist leader, who is considered as hardliner, was again placed under house arrest on Friday (last Friday of holy month of Ramadan) and prevented from offering the Friday prayers in the mosque.
It is obligatory for a Muslim male to offer Friday prayers in a mosque.
An aide of the separatist leader said that a large posse of police and paramilitary CRPF personnel were deployed outside his Hyderpora residence and was informed that he cannot leave the house till further order.
The separatist leader termed his continuous detention during Ramadan as interference in religious obligations.
