Marine Corps Marathon Announces Requirements For Media Credentials
Marine Corps Marathon will be held Sunday, October 26
For Media Review Only- Media Credential Request Forms for members of the media seeking access to the 33rd Marine Corps Marathon race course, participants, and any adjoining events are now available for download at
http://www.marinemarathon.com/News/media_info.htm. Media must have their credential requests submitted to the Public Relations Office no later than Friday, October 17, 2008. A media credential is required to attend any MCM event including: the Health and Fitness Expo, Expert Bar, Carbo Dining In, Healthy Kids Fun Run and MCM10K.
Media Support and Opportunities on Race Day include: * Media Tent located at the MCM finish line near the Marine Corps War Memorial * Media Truck on the MCM course, traveling through Arlington, VA and Washington, DC * Media Risers overlooking the MCM start line on Route 110 * Media Photo Area at the MCM finish line near the Marine Corps War Memorial
Completed requests may be emailed to elizabeth.johnson1@usmc.mil. Credential confirmation and pick up information will be sent via email as requests are approved.
Media passes must be picked up prior to race day. A photo ID and business card will be required to receive passes. Pick-up will be available at the following times at the Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill:
Press Conference (Congressional Room 1): Friday, October 24, 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
Media Center (Bryce Room): Friday, October 24, 1:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Media Center (Bryce Room): Saturday October 25, 10:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Voted "Best Marathon for Families", the Marine Corps Marathon continues a combined tradition of dedication, sportsmanship and patriotism. Runners from all walks of life have participated in the world's largest marathon to not offer prize money, deservingly earning the nickname "The People's Marathon." The 33rd Marine Corps Marathon to be held on October 26, 2008 in Arlington, VA is presented by USAA, Brooks Sports, Inc., and CVS/Caremark. No federal or Marine Corps endorsement implied.
