Tour President and former LPGA standout Jane Blalock sees it as a good fit for
a pro-am that will grow into a full field tournament stop.
"We have a fan base in the region that will enjoy the opportunity to see
Legends of the LPGA come through and tackle their local course," said Blalock.
"We are encouraged by the commitment of local supporters and excited to build
and grow a viable event here."
In addition to the pro-am, there will be a "putting challenge" where one
can challenge the pros. Also, a community clinic will be held at the course
showcasing the swings of various Legends Tour professionals.
LPGA Hall of Fame
"These LPGA Hall of Fame Legends absolutely go out of their way to make
sure the fans, sponsors and volunteers have a really good time," McNeight
stated. He said the golf professionals interact with those who come to see
them play, signing photographs and talking with the fans.
The Legends Tour began in 2000 to showcase the talents of some of the
greatest women golfers today. With over 100 members, they have compiled over
600 LPGA victories, awarded more than $6 million in prize money and donated
