Tiger Claw and Trex Begin Multi-Year Contract for Exclusive, Proprietary Hidden Deck Fasteners

Tiger Claw Inc. announces that it has entered
into a multi-year contract with Trex to manufacture its proprietary Trex
Hideaway(TM) hidden deck fastener system. Trex Hideaway will be used for
one of Trex's most popular collections of decking and railing -- Trex
Brasilia® -- and will provide a cleaner deck surface, free of nails and
screws.
"The multi-year agreement with Trex is a tremendous validation of Tiger
Claw's expertise in designing and manufacturing custom hidden deck
fasteners for the industry's top manufacturers of composite and pre-grooved
decking," said David Hartmann, president of Tiger Claw. "Tiger Claw takes
pride in its many partnerships and future opportunities. We are looking
forward to working with Trex and providing all our partners great service
for many years to come."
Trex Hideaway Hidden Fasteners were designed exclusively for use with Trex
decking. As a part of the Trex Hideaway System, Tiger Claw manufactures two
styles of hidden deck fasteners that are used with the exotic Trex Brasilia
line of grooved boards. The Connector Clip -- available in 50- and
500-square foot coverage options -- is for use between deck boards. The
Start/Stop Clip is available in a 400-square foot coverage option and is
for use on the outer boards. This clip, which allows for one-sided
connections, is the first of its kind on the market. All clips are
constructed of stainless steel for superior durability, and feature a black
finish.
The use of other hidden fastener systems with Trex grooved boards may
damage the board or result in the boards not being adequately fastened to
the joist system.
"We're very confident in the superiority of Trex Hideaway when compared to
other hidden fastening systems on the market," said Scott Fedor, senior
product manager of decking at Trex. "The unique grooved design of our
boards allows them to easily attach to the clips -- not only creating a
pleasing aesthetic, but also allowing for an installation process that is
far more efficient and uncomplicated than that of similar products.
Replacement also is simpler -- even on boards installed in the middle of a
deck."
During the development of Trex Hideaway, Tiger Claw and Trex worked closely
to test the design of the product and to ensure that all of its features
directly addressed contractor needs and exceeded their expectations.
