By tapping into the iPhone's accelerometer technology, iGolf players are able to simulate not just a real life driving range experience, but with the new release, will also have the ability to practice on different holes to try and beat the two and three par courses. Players select their club from an easy to use iPhone touch pad interface and then swing their device as they would a real club. [Screenshots with this release.]
"The response to the launch of iGolf has been overwhelmingly positive. iGolf is proving to be the fastest growing and most innovative game in SGN's history," said Shervin Pishevar, CEO of SGN. "We have been working day and night to deliver the three new par two and three holes to continue to engage and entertain our growing fanbase."
"The launch of iGolf for iPhone marks a new era for SGN as we focus on integrating social gaming into a mobile platform to push the boundaries of the gaming experience for gamers and enthusiasts alike. Social networking features such as the viral nature of the game and the ability to challenge your friends has helped catapult it to the top of the iPhone App Store list," continues Mr. Pishevar.
Three new holes and additional game features and gaming options will expand the already hugely popular game's appeal. In addition to the par two and three courses, new gaming options will be released to enable players to customize their game play. Left handed controls will be available which replicate left handed play allowing players to alter the trajectory of the swing and position of the ball. In addition, the introduction of new audio controls will allow players to set 'applause' sounds and the authentic 'thwack' sound made when the club hits the ball. iGolf game enhancements will be available for free on iPhone's Apps Store by October 1, 2008.
iGolf marks SGN's expansion into integrated social gaming technology for mobile platforms, demonstrating SGN's commitment to invert the "social graph" established on social networking sites like Facebook, MySpace, Bebo and Hi5. SGN is taking its extensive experience in the development of original and engaging game play and applying cutting-edge technology to create a compulsive game play experience.
