New Lighting Accessories -- kaarsKoker -- Let You See Your Chandelier in a Whole New Light
Decorative Replacement Candle Sleeves Transform a Chandelier for Under $40

April Pride Allison, founder of aPa Company, a
Seattle-based interior design firm, today launched her first product -- kaarsKoker. kaarsKoker, Dutch for
"candle sleeve," are individual
tubes which replace the standard candle covers, generally white
plastic, commonly found on chandeliers and sconces. The decorative replacement candle sleeves
are available in 68 design options with prices ranging from $12 to $23 per
pair, allowing individuals to customize their new or existing fixtures.

Each kaarsKoker is available in candelabra diameter and in 4" and 6"
lengths, which can be easily shortened to accommodate custom lighting. A standard, or
Edison diameter, will be available later this year. kaarsKoker candle sleeves are offered
in a variety of solids and patterns and can be mixed, matched and/or
replaced seasonally. Just as you might use different colored candles
throughout your home and for special occasions, kaarsKoker gives
individuals the ability to make their common lighting fixtures extraordinary.
Ms. Allison's idea for the kaarsKoker product came to her two years ago,
when she found herself ordering a variety of styles of light fixtures for
clients -- all with the same standard white plastic sleeves. "I knew that
all of these fixtures could be made more beautiful and personal so I began
to mock-up custom sleeves for some of my clients -- everyone loved them,"
says Ms. Allison. "My idea really resonated when I saw an exquisite $90,000
Baccarat crystal chandelier that had the same plastic candle sleeves.
That's when I truly believed that there was a market for this." She has
taken common motifs found in architecture/design and selected colors that
will enhance and transform a fixture to create a personal statement.
kaarsKoker candle sleeves are available for purchase online at
www.kaarskoker.com and at Great Jones Home in Seattle. More retail
partnerships are expected.
