Srinagar, Sept 23: The pro-Indian Governor of Kashmir, Narender Nath Vohra on Tuesday said that the Srinagar-Muzaffarabad road (connecting two parts of Kashmir each being administered by India and Pakistan) would be ready for cross-LoC trade by October 15.
Reviewing measures for start of cross-LoC trade at a high level meeting here Tuesday evening, Kashmir's Governor said arrangements will be finalized by October end for both Srinagar-Muzaffarabad road and Poonch-Rawlakote road.
The Governor was told during the meeting that final touches are being given to the arrangements and creation of infrastructural facilities for cross-LoC trade on Uri-Muzaffarabad and Poonch-Rawalakote routes.
The meeting was held close on the heels of decisions taken by Indian and Pakistani joint Working Group on cross-LoC Confidence Building Measures (CBMs) in New Delhi.
The joint Working Group has short listed the items for trade between two sides which will be finalized in consultation with the respective governments.
The Kashmir Governor was told that the visits of trade delegations from two sides are expected to materialize shortly.
