Indian Army Soldier Hangs Self in Restive Kashmir

Srinagar, Sept 23: An Indian army solder hanged himself to death in the restive Kashmir.

Police sources said that an Indian army soldier was found hanging inside his room in his camp at the Nowshera, Rajouri region of Kashmir. Identified as Raj Kumar Yadav, 32 of 64 Field Artillery Regiment, he was taken to the hospital where doctors declared him dead upon arrival.

Police have registered a case and launched investigations.

The Indian army has also separately ordered Court of Inquiry to ascertain as to why soldier took such an extreme step.

More than three dozen Indian army and paramilitary soldiers committed suicide in restive Kashmir this year so far.
