Srinagar, Sept 22: The Indian and Pakistani army officials on Monday held a flag meeting in Kashmir to discuss the 'border ceasefire violation'.
Pakistan army on Monday accused Indian troops of firing on their posts in Rawalkote sector in strife torn Kashmir. "A girl was killed in the Indian troops firing," a spokesman of Pakistan army has said.
After the reported violation of border ceasefire that has been holding since December 2003, Indian and Pakistani army officials held a flag meeting to discuss the "ceasefire violation".
"The Pakistani army officials alleged that Indian troops fired on their positions without any provocation. Our side rejected the allegations and told them that the troops fired to eliminate the infiltrators," said a senior Indian army officer, pleading anonymity.
The officer, however, maintained that if Pakistani troop continued to target Indian posts and positions, Indian soldiers would be compelled to retaliate effectively.
He alleged that Pakistani troops assisted a group of infiltrators in the Poonch region of Kashmir to cross the border into Kashmir. "Four militants and two soldiers were killed in the ensuing gunfight," he said.
